Here's a checklist of things to do and think about when moving into your new home.

Have you….

  • Registered for council tax?
  • Contacted Royal Mail to have your mail redirected?
  • Check your new home has been registered with Royal Mail at https://www.royalmail.com/personal/receiving-mail/update-your-address to ensure you receive your post and parcel deliveries.
  • Arranged contents insurance?
  • Check the local authority website for your bin collection day?
  • Ensure you register your appliances including boiler; oven, hob and fridge/freezer?
  • Contacted utility companies, including water, gas and electricity suppliers and provided meter readings?
  • Contacted your bank, DVLA, doctors, dentists, TV licensing to advise of your new address?
