Repairs update
As a business, Great Places is committed to developing future talent from early on. We pride ourselves on being a great provider of excellent opportunities for those looking to progress in a career pathway of their choice.
Our Growing Greatness programme forms part of our learning and development offer and is our entry-level programme, which is largely aimed at apprentices and graduates to support them into the working world and beyond.
In June 2023, we launched our apprenticeship vacancies for this year and received over 1,000 applications. We advertised for apprentice joiners, plumbers, electricians and plasterers working across Greater Manchester, Lancashire, and South Yorkshire.
The standard this year was incredibly high and we received an increased number of applications from people from social housing, the armed forces, and females for traditionally male dominated roles. After weeks of assessment days, interviews, and tough decisions we finally appointed our new apprentices for this year. We welcomed 11 new Repairs Apprentices in September and they are settling in really well. We look forward to supporting their development and training. Look out for them across your homes and neighbourhoods as they build their careers with Great Places!
Complaint Handling Code consultation 2023
The Housing Ombudsman service is consulting with landlords and customers about the current HOS self-assessment that we complete every year to demonstrate we are following the HOS code which covers good practice when dealing with customer complaints. Customers can get involved and provide feedback directly to the HOS by scanning the QR code.
Great Places will be engaging with our new Customer Feedback Customer group who are working with the team to ensure we offer a fair and transparent service and to support us in delivering a service in line with our policy and the HOS code. Take a look and have your say by 23rd November.
