Money matters – Financial support when you need it
With the cost of living continuing to be a challenge for many people, remember that help is on hand from our Money Matters Team who can provide confidential support and guidance. Our advisors can provide support on everything from helping you access benefits you may be eligible to claim to providing advice on tackling any debts you may be struggling with.
Accessing support made simple
Getting advice from the team is straightforward. Simply send an email to moneymatters@greatplaces.org.uk and a team member will get back in touch. They’ll look to start with a thorough review of your financial circumstances and give you all the information you need to know how to tackle the issues you are facing to help you with your financial wellbeing.
Help with energy bills
With energy bills set to rise in October following the announcement of OFGEMs latest energy price cap, many customers may be worried about the cost of heating their homes as we move into winter.
Great Places and partner organisations are expanding their energy support for customers struggling to afford their energy bills. Not only can we help with emergency fuel payments, but additional guidance and advice can be provided to ensure your home is as energy-efficient as possible. Across all our regions, home energy visits are available through our partners, Groundwork, who can accept referrals directly from customers or through Great Places’ colleagues.
Additionally, our Money Matters Team has recently teamed up with water and energy saving consultants Cenergist to offer home visits and adaptions to help customers save money on their water and energy bills.
The free home visits are currently only available to Great Places customers in eligible postcode areas but we’re registering all interest in the scheme. Cenergist consultants will look to contact eligible customers to arrange a visit to assess the current performance of existing water and energy systems in their home. Based on the results, they will then look to fit water-saving products to improve the efficiency of the systems, in turn helping customers save money on their utility bills.
