Your safety is our priority
At Great Places, your safety remains our top priority. Our Building Safety Team continues to work on a range of safety enhancements, as well as developing and delivering our remediation plans for our buildings. We are committed to ensuring that all our customers live in a safe and secure environment.
Collaborative safety strategies
Our Building Safety and Customer Involvement Teams have also been actively consulting with customers in our high-rise apartment blocks. Together, we are co-designing individual building safety strategies tailored to each building’s unique needs. This collaborative approach ensures that all customers in these buildings have access to essential safety information specific to their homes.
Window safety matters
Following several high-profile incidents involving housing association customers, we want to remind those living in high-rise apartments or above the ground floor about the importance of window safety. Securing windows is crucial to prevent accidents, particularly the risk of falls, which is especially important if there are young children in the home.
Our Building Safety Team has created a dedicated window safety web page with essential information to help keep you safe. This page includes tips for households with young children, advice on cleaning windows safely, and contact details for any concerns. For more information visit
Keeping communal areas clear
As a responsible landlord, we’re committed to reducing fire risks and ensuring safe evacuation routes in case of an emergency. In line with Fire Safety Regulations, we regularly inspect communal areas to ensure they remain clear at all times.
These areas must be kept clutter free, meaning no items should be stored there or put on the walls. This includes furniture, bikes, prams, scooters, ornaments, appliances, posters/frames, welcome mats, garden equipment, tools, toys or any other items.
Hazards found, such as bikes or door mats, will be removed. Bins should also be safely stored in the provided bin stores, and customers should not store flammable materials or place cardboard in designated recycling bins.
