Employability Service team supports young mum to find a fresh start
Great Places’ Employment and Skills team has helped a young mum in supported accommodation rebuild her confidence, improve her wellbeing and start looking ahead to the future.
After having a baby, she was feeling isolated and struggling to find a routine. During a conversation with the team, she shared that she had previously worked as a personal trainer and that going to the gym had always been important for her mental and physical wellbeing.
Together, they developed a plan that included childcare support and regular gym sessions. When membership costs became a barrier, Great Places helped secure funding.
Since returning to the gym, she has rebuilt her routine, felt less isolated and started exploring opportunities to work in fitness again.
