Money Matters

Managing your money can feel challenging, especially with ongoing increases in household costs. The good news is you don’t have to face it alone. We offer a range of support to help you manage your money, stay on top of bills and feel more confident about the future.

But there are some small steps you can take that can make a big difference:

  • Create a budget – knowing what money you have coming in and what needs to be paid can help you feel more in control. It’s also a good way to make sure you don’t overspend where possible!
  • Ask for help early – if you owe money and are finding it hard to keep up with payments, it’s important to ask for help early. Talking to the lenders or companies you owe can stop the situation from getting worse. You don’t have to struggle alone.
  • Visit Lightning Reach – we’ve teamed up with Lightning Reach, a free, secure online portal that can help you find and apply for grants, benefits and other financial support.

Remember, our Money Matters Team is always here to help, offering free and confidential support to all customers. If you’d like to speak to someone, contact your Neighbourhood Services Manager or email moneymatters@greatplaces.org.uk. £10k boost for customers and communities

Great Places and SAFE Group are helping make a positive difference in local communities through their latest partnership contract.

From this, £10,000 in funding is going towards support for the House to Home project, helping provide essential white goods for customers moving into a new home, and Household Assistance, which offers food and fuel vouchers to people facing financial hardship.

SAFE Group has also committed 40 volunteering hours, including support to improve community facilities and spaces. Together, both organisations are helping provide practical support where it’s needed most and making a positive difference for customers and neighbourhoods.
