Northmoor Community Association celebrates 25 years
Northmoor Community Association (NCA) is celebrating 25 years of supporting local people and bringing the community together.
Founded by local residents with support from Great Places, NCA has grown into a thriving community hub, offering activities, advice, volunteering opportunities and support for people of all ages in the South of Manchester.
The anniversary brought residents, community groups and local partners together to celebrate everything NCA has achieved over the last quarter of a century, and the positive difference it continues to make across Northmoor.
Looking ahead, NCA remains committed to helping people connect, supporting local communities and creating opportunities for future generations.
Great Places helps secure funding for Darwen community café
Great Places has helped community café Number One Café in Darwen secure almost £10,000 of funding from the Community Catalyst Capacity Building Grants to support its work in the local community.
Based on Croft Street, the café provides support for people experiencing homelessness, neurodivergent people and those looking for employment opportunities.
The funding will help the café continue developing its services, creating more opportunities to support local people and reach those who may benefit from its help.
