A visit that matters: Kirith Entwistle MP at Sarah Lodge

Kirith Entwistle, MP for Bolton North East, recently visited one of our schemes, Sarah Lodge, in Bolton. She was joined by our Director of Independence and Wellbeing, Andrew Gray, along with members of the team.

Sarah Lodge offers temporary supported housing for young women aged 18 to 30 who are pregnant or have children under five, as well as for young men with children who need a safe place to live and extra support. It’s an important service that helps families build brighter futures.

During the visit, one of our customers shared her inspiring story and talked about her hopes for the future as she gets ready to move into her own home. It was a powerful reminder of why supported housing is so important.

Great Places was proud to support the National Housing Federation’s ‘Starts at Home Day 2025’. This campaign builds on their ‘Save Our Supported Housing’ work and calls for more support for services that help people when they need it most.

A great start to new homes in Doncaster

It’s an exciting time over in Yorkshire, with the opening of Wheatley Hall, our first development in Doncaster. This new site includes 50 affordable homes and marks the beginning of a great partnership with Doncaster Council.

After building work finished in early 2025, our Neighbourhoods team stepped in to make sure the homes went to people who needed them most. They began in March, and by summer, the final keys were handed over to new customers, marking a proud moment for everyone involved.
