Money Matters

Managing your money can feel challenging, especially with ongoing increases in household costs.

The good news is, you don’t have to face it alone. Great Places offers a range of support to help customers look after their finances, stay on top of bills, and feel more confident about the future.

There are some small steps you can take that can make a big difference, so here are some helpful tips to get started:

  • Create a budget – knowing what money you have coming in and what needs to be paid can help you feel more in control. It’s also a good way to make sure you don’t overspend where possible!
  • Ask for help – if you owe money and are finding it hard to keep up with payments, it’s important to ask for help early. Talking to the lenders or companies you owe can stop the situation from getting worse. You don’t have to struggle alone.
  • Visit Lightning Reach – we’ve teamed up with Lightning Reach, a free, secure online portal, to help customers find and apply for financial support, grants, and benefits to manage rising living costs.

Remember, our Money Matters Team are always here to help, offering free, confidential financial advice to all customers. If you’d like to get help, please contact your Neighbourhood Services Manager or email moneymatters@greatplaces.org.uk.

We sat down with Kerryanne and talked about her journey.
