10 years of Insight

Our Insight group has been busy scrutinising, checking and challenging Great Places services for 10 years!

We’d like to say thank you to members past and present, customers and colleagues for supporting scrutiny. In 10 years, Insight has scrutinised 22 services and suggested up to 220 recommendations for change.

A scrutiny review looks at information, customer feedback and performance data to learn about the service. Insight members will talk to customers and colleagues to learn about their different experiences of service, as well as research other landlords to look for best practice. All evidence is reviewed to find strengths and areas for improvement. This evidence supports Insight to suggest recommendations and agree actions with Great Places.

Some services Insight has scrutinised most recently include:

  • Cost of Living – Great Places’ support offer for customers
  • New Build Homes – a Customers’ Experience
  • Damp and mould communications to customers
  • Customer Feedback and Complaints

Insight recently viewed a customer booklet designed using findings from their review of how Great Places communicates about damp and mould. The group could see their feedback had informed the booklet, which is available on our website.

If you’re objective, have a keen eye for detail and you’d like to help influence to make a difference, there are several ways you can support scrutiny:

  • Join online scrutiny sessions with other customers.
  • Do tasks at home - look at information or read data and pose questions to assess service.
  • Research other landlord services to compare/find best practice.
  • Complete a survey to feedback about your experience of service.

What do Insight think about scrutiny:

Listening to and acting on what customers tell us is hugely important to us, and Insight's work is hugely appreciated. More importantly, we listen to what they tell us and use their findings to change and improve services for all customers. We are extremely thankful for the time and effort members contribute to helping us improve.
