Investing in your homes
Before
After
At Great Places, we take pride in investing in customers’ homes to create spaces that are not only comfortable but also safe and energy efficient.
In the last financial year, we spent £25,227,287 on compliance and building safety activity, and delivering improvement work to existing customer homes.
Safety remains top priority and to enhance building and fire safety, we invested £3,527,521 on a range of various safety enhancements including the installation of smoke and fire detection systems.
We also remain committed to improving the energy efficiency of our existing homes. Over the past year, the projects to achieve this have helped raise the energy efficiency rating to C or above in 82% of our customers’ homes.
Alongside our partners, Fairheat, work is also progressing with our improvements to the Richmond Park local heat network in Sheffield. The £1.6m project will see essential upgrades to plant rooms and equipment in 299 customers’ homes. The improvements promise to make these homes more energy efficient and give customers more control over heating and hot water costs.
Your feedback matters!
Your feedback is important and in the past year we’ve used your views to help shape our future services. We used your feedback from our recent customer survey on improvement works to help us put together the questions posed to new contractors bidding to carry out work in your homes such as installing new kitchens and bathrooms. For contractors to be successful they needed to show that their priorities were in line with what matters to you. We’ll also be using your priorities to help us monitor contractors’ performance.
Top five things you told us matter to you when it comes to work in your homes are:
- That works are carried out to a good standard
- That we use good quality materials
- That works are inspected and fully finished
- That essential parts of the home are useable at the end of each day i.e. toilet
- That where anything does go wrong, that this is put right.
