Social Value 2023/24

Social value is the added benefits our suppliers offer to our customers and communities: activities like volunteering, employment support, donations and expert advice. This year we’ve seen more social value delivered than ever before, with a combined value of over £580k.

Much of this has been linked to house-building projects, where our suppliers have helped with a wide range of activities – from turning waste timber into benches and decorations at a public garden, to developing a new website for a community group. Our wider supply chain has also contributed by donating digital devices to community centres, speaking to primary school children about a range of careers, volunteering with parks and homeless charities, and much more.

We’ve got lots of plans for social value in the coming year, as we continue to work with our suppliers on activities that inspire them and have a wide impact.

This includes creating new opportunities through our investment programme, where contractors upgrading our homes will have a much wider range of options for supporting local communities.
