Building and Fire Safety Matters

At Great Places, your safety remains our top priority. Our Building and Fire Safety Team continues to work on a range of safety enhancements to ensure we respond to the changes in Building and Fire Safety regulations and prepare to deliver our first wave of remediation plans for our buildings.

We have also recently completed updates to Fire Risk Assessments across all of our blocks of flats. Actions from these assessments are currently being worked though by our teams.

The safety of customers in our high-rise blocks is a key priority, and our Building Safety and Customer Involvement Teams have been actively consulting with customers to co-design individual building safety strategies tailored to each building’s unique needs. These completed strategies were recently shared with customers in these blocks to ensure that they have access to essential safety information specific to their homes.

Remember to keep your communal areas clear

As a responsible landlord, we’re committed to reducing fire risks and ensuring safe evacuation routes in case of an emergency.

In line with Fire Safety Regulations, we would like to remind customers in our blocks of flats that:

  • All communal areas must be kept clear and safe, meaning no items should be stored there. This includes furniture, bikes, prams, scooters, ornaments, appliances, posters/frames, welcome mats, garden equipment, tools, toys, or any other items.
  • Hazards found, such as bikes or door mats, will be removed.
  • Bins should also be safely stored in the provided bin stores, and customers should not store flammable materials or place cardboard in designated recycling bins.
