The Inclusive Services Team: one year on
In April 2024, Great Places launched its brand-new Inclusive Services Team (IST) to get to know all about our customers and tailor services to meet the needs of their households. Over the past 12 months, the team prioritised contacting different customers for varying reasons.
We prioritised contact with customers in our Northmoor Anchor Neighbourhood, to understand if there were any customers either living in homes with additional rooms not in use, or customers that had serious overcrowding issues. The team contacted over 400 customers to understand their needs, and where possible, supported our Neighbourhoods colleagues in offering some of these customers a move to a more suitable home just a few minutes down the road at our new Belle Vue development in Manchester.
The team also contacted another 443 customers living in our high-rise buildings, which include Bowland House, Park Hill, Westpoint View, Astoria, Willow Court, Broad Road, The Ironworks and The Vibe. Along with understanding the needs of their households, the team have worked closely with our Building Safety colleagues to identify customers who would need support evacuating their building in the event of a fire, or if the lift for the block was out of service. By knowing this information, we can share it with the Fire & Rescue Service who can prioritise evacuating these customers in an emergency.
Alongside the above, the team have so far contacted over 2,300 additional customers, having applied for a total of 1,481 tailored service requests at the time of writing. The team’s work is ongoing to continue supporting customers via telephone, email and post.
