Grounds Maintenance Team update
Our Grounds Maintenance Team is dedicated to keeping your shared outdoor spaces clean, neat, and orderly. We achieve this through activities such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and leaf clearance. Our services are provided to schemes and developments across our regions that have communal outdoor spaces
Our calendar outlines our tasks and their timings, but please note that this is a guidance and subject to change due to weather conditions. For example, we cannot apply weed killer if rain is forecasted, as this could cause harmful chemicals to wash into drains or onto plants. Similarly, mowing is not possible during or after heavy rain because our commercial-grade mowers, some weighing up to 80kg, can damage the ground.
During the growing season, which is typically from April to October, we deliver services fortnightly, and monthly during the colder months. This schedule is also subject to holidays and weather conditions, especially in the early and late months of the growing season and during extreme hot weather like we experienced last year. While visits will still occur, the tasks may vary based on the weather at the time.
In the winter months, you may see our teams less frequently, but they spend more time preparing for the growing season. During the dormant season, we visit once a month to clear leaves, perform hard pruning, and apply bark mulch where appropriate. As the growing season begins, we shift to grass cutting and other activities on a fortnightly basis. This is when most of the activity happens, as seedlings, plants, and grass benefit from increased daylight and warmer weather.
