Are you eligible for Pension Credit?
Pension Credit provides extra money to help with living costs if you are over state pension age and are on a low income.
It tops up your weekly income to £182.60 if you’re single or your joint weekly income to £278.70 if you have a partner. If you have reached state pension age, you may be eligible for the top-up to the state pension, called Pension Credit (Guarantee Credit).
If your income is higher than these amounts, you might still be eligible for Pension Credit if you have a disability or you care for someone.
If you receive Pension Credit you may also receive other financial support such as:
- Help with NHS dental treatment, glasses and transport costs for hospital appointments;
- A free TV licence if you are aged 75 or over;
- Help with heating costs through the Warm Home Discount Scheme;
- Council Tax discount;
- Housing Benefit/support for mortgage interest if you rent/own the property you live in.
