Celebrating Equality and Diversity

At Great Places, we take equality and diversity very seriously as we want our company to be a fantastic place to work and one that provides a great service to its customers.

This year we have been celebrating the diversity and our customers and colleagues.

Firstly, we celebrated neurodiversity and highlight we take all kinds of neurodiversity seriously to ensure our culture and business recognises everyone’s individuality.

Neurodiversity is the concept that all humans vary in terms of how their brains work and how they work through information.

Everyone has talents and things they struggle with. However, for some people the variation between those strengths and weaknesses is more pronounced, which can bring talent but can also be disabling.

There are many types of neurodiversity, including:

  • ADHD (5% of the population have ADHD)
  • Autism (1-2% of the population is autistic)
  • Dyslexia (10% of the population are dyslexic)
  • Dyspraxia (5% of the population are dyspraxic)
  • Tourette Syndrome (1-2% of the population have Tourette Syndrome)
  • Additional learning needs
  • Behaviour that challenges
