Reinvesting in our communities

We are more than a landlord as we try to uplift our communities through our social value programme.

Social Value allows both Great Places and our suppliers to carry out our primary activities, in such a way that it encourages them to create lasting benefits for the people within our communities.

Here are some of the good causes we have been able to support through our social value remit

Manchester

NEO Projects, an Innovation Chain North framework consultant – designed to support the delivery of new homes and associated social infrastructure across the North of England - has partnered with the Northmoor Community Association to help create a communal space that can be hired out to the community. The team cleared the space and gave it a fresh lick of paint, so it can now be used by the community. There are also plans to support the NCA with the cost of new flooring.

Knutsford

Another ICN framework consultant AA Projects has been supporting The Welcome Community Centre with their plans to improve the building. Taking advantage of AA Projects professional skills, they have provided a structural survey of the building to help create the plans to maximise the space and increase the services delivered in Longridge and Shaw Heath.

Oldham

Working Wardrobe will provide Oldham residents with free outfits for interviews and personal grooming alongside tailored interview support and job advice.

Working Wardrobe is being launched by Get Oldham Working, the free council service which helps residents find work and training opportunities.

Working Wardrobe will be a fantastic addition to the Get Oldham Working package of support already in place.

“The scheme will provide a one to- one service offering clothing for interviews, and also bespoke interview training and confidence building to help residents make the best possible first impression.
