Wybourn Community Centre
In July 2022, we celebrated the official opening of our Community Hub, named in tribute to Cllr Pat Midgley, a longstanding Ward Councillor, Regional Great Places Board Member and campaigner for the Wybourn community, who sadly passed away in 2020.
IThe facility also includes 12 apartments for affordable rent and as part of Great Places’ commitment to delivering social value, working in partnership with Tanbry Construction Limited, the development of the Hub, enabling employment and training opportunities for our customers and providing support to a range of additional community projects.
Situated in the heart of Wybourn, the Hub will provide a vibrant new facility for local people, including a community café and space for a range of community groups, events, education courses and other engagement activities.
The official opening of the Hub was followed by a Community Fun Day, where people from the local community were able to sign up for a range of summer holiday activities.
