Keeping our grounds great
We have continued to improve our grounds maintenance service this year, despite facing many challenges.
The hot weather had an impact on our service delivery but the team has worked hard to bring our service successfully back on track.
As we move into the autumn months, the next job will be to prune our shrubbed areas and hedges. However, we must be careful as we are still in the nesting season so large hedgerows may need to wait until the winter.
How do I get involved?
Autumn will of course bring leaves, don’t forget while we will keep paths clears it is best to hold back on mass leaf collection until all have dropped.
With the winter programme, we will prepare the ground for the next year’s growing season, edging lawns, reducing large shrub and hedge areas and pre-arranging improvement works for some spaces. This winter, we will cutback our hedges and shrubbed areas more than usual to give more room to grow.
We have dropped from fortnightly visits to monthly but with double the time so we can get the hard work done, typically on larger sites you will see this work phased
Get involved options:
across the four month winter period so don’t be alarmed if some areas are left to the next visit.
The schedule below shows how often we visit each Green Space throughout the year and what we do.
